“CATS” COSTUME OUTLINE:

This includes what the characters we had wore, also their 'guesstimated' approximate streetwear size, or general build description.  Each ‘cat’ wore a plain white or nude body suit under their costume.  The tails tied around their waists with cord.  The leggings, arm pieces and fur pieces were hand knit and snapped onto the costumes.  

Alonzo:  Black and White; actor was about 5’10”, slim build.

Bombalurina:  Orange, black & white, white bib; actress was about 5’7”, probably a size 8 to 10, a bit buxom.

Bustopher Jones:  He was just in that number, and the scenes as Bustopher, he did not play another cat.  Wore the black and white fur tuxedo, spats, had a monocle.  He did not wear the under unitard.  He is about 5’8 to 9” tall, and stocky, probably a 44 or so jacket.

Cassandra:  Brown toned Abysinnian cat; actress was about 5’7” and very slim, probably a size 4 to 6.

Coricopat:  Black & white; actor was about 5’9”’ tall, very slim.

Demeter:   Orange and white with bib; actress is about 5’5”, at this time she was probably a size 10 to 12.

Grizabella:  She wore a black unitard, with a loose sheath style sequined dress over that and the coat over both.  The coat strips of fake fur in varying shades of grey sewn on a base garment.  She is about 5’6” tall and wears probably a size 8 to10, she does have a large bust.

Gus the Theatre Cat:  Shades of grey, long yarn pieces to go over the unitard, and a jacket of long yarn pieces; actor is 6’ tall and average build, probably a 40 coat.

Jellylorum:   Black & white; actress was probably 5’5”, and a size 10.

Jemima:  Calico kitten; actress was about 5’4 or 5”, and very tiny, a size 4 to 6.

Jennyanydots/Gumby Cat:  Yellow & orange unitard with yellow and orange fringe pants and tunic over that and the yellow foam Gumby coat, mitts, ears and boots over that.  She was about 5’4” and a size 12.

Macavity:  Red, black and white; actor was 6’ and average, good build, muscular.

Mr. Mistoffeles:  Black & white, his jacket was all paillettes (spelling?) fabric, so the light reflected off it, looked like it was electrified but it was not.  He is about 5’4” and slight build.

Mongojerrie:  Orange, black & white; actor was 5’7” and slim build.

Munkustrap:  Black, white & grey; actor was 5:11 and average build.

Old Deuteronomy:  His coat is latch-hooked variegated yarns of different textures and shades of greys and beiges, onto an open knit base.  It is a ‘T’ shape, like a caftan, and was latch-hooked in pieces and then sewn together.

The actor was about 6’ tall, and stocky, he probably wears a 44 to 46 suit coat.  The beard is his own, and he wore a wig.  He did not wear a unitard underneath, he wore bike shorts and a t-shirt.

There is also a second piece to match the coat that Macavity has thrown over him when he comes in after the kidnapping and before the fight between he and Munkustrap.

Pouncival:  Tan; actor was 5’10 or so and average build.

Rumpleteazer:  Orange, black & white, matches Mongojerrie; actress is 5’7” and about a size 8.

Rum Tum Tugger:  Black with large brown & black fur collar; actor was 6’ and slim build, good shoulders.

Skimbleshanks:   Beige & brown, added the shaggy vest for his number; actor is 6’1 or 2”, slim build.

Tantomille:  Black & white; actress is about 5’6” and average build.

Tumblebrutus:  Multi stripes, in the picture they are small and close together, this has been altered to have them be further apart and fewer of them; actress is about 5’5” and probably a size 10.

Victoria:  The white cat; she was about 5’6” and a size 7-8.
